Oakland Athletics Team Report - April 15th

(Sports Network) - The losing ways continued for the Oakland A's, as they fell
4-3 in the first tilt of four-game set against the Seattle Mariners last
night.
Mark Mulder (1-1) absorbed the loss, yielding four runs on eight hits over
seven innings. The last time Mulder lost was on August 11, 2002.
Ramon Hernandez homered and Eric Chavez ended 2-for-4 with an RBI for the
Athletics, who have dropped five straight after starting the season 7-1. Chris
Singleton scored twice and had two hits in the loss.
The last time Oakland lost five straight was a seven-game skid from April
8-15, 2001.
Although Miguel Tejada went 1-for-4 in a losing effort for Oakland, he is
batting just .200 on the season and hasn't driven in a run in his last five
games.
Lefty throwing Ted Lilly will take the mound for the A's tonight as he tries
to record his second victory of the season. He went 6 1/3 innings in his most
recent outing, giving up four earned runs on eight hits and striking out five
in a non-decision.
Lilly (1-0) is making his eighth career appearance against the Mariners and
has a record of 0-3 in those previous seven outings with an ERA of 6.86. In 21
innings of work against Seattle he has walked 11 batters and struck out 21.
