Ravens sign wide receiver Sanders
Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Ravens and veteran wide
receiver Frank Sanders have agreed in principle to a four-year contract.
Sanders, 30, had played the past eight seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
"We have an experienced, veteran guy who can provide some leadership, can
teach our guys what it takes to work on this level and what it takes to
prepare from week to week," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome. "He has
had the opportunity to work in the slot, so he brings some versatility for
us."
Sanders' most productive season was back in 1998, when he caught 89 passes for
1,145 yards and three touchdowns to lead Arizona to its first playoff
appearance since 1975.
The Auburn product caught 34 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns last
season. He played in 12 games and started all of them.
