Texas Rangers Team Report - April 20th

From The Sports Network

(Sports Network) - The Rangers, who have dropped 11 of their last 12 versus Oakland, will conclude a three-game series at the Coliseum today. Texas is 1-4 this season against the A's.

The Rangers will put Colby Lewis on the mound today. The righthander is going for his third victory of the season. In his last outing, Lewis allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings against the Angels on Tuesday.

Lewis was less then spectacular against the Athletics on April 10th, allowing four runs on four hits and walking eight batters in 3 2/3 innings. The righty is winless in two career starts against Oakland, posting an ERA of 4.97.

The Rangers have a 6.05 ERA, which is the third worst in the majors.

Carl Everett and Rafael Palmeiro homered for the Rangers in a 12-2 loss yesterday. Texas has dropped three of its last four games. Ismael Valdes (2-2) was handed the loss after allowing six runs -- four earned -- in just 3 2/3 frames.

Everett was hit in the back of the head with a cell phone thrown by a fan in the fifth inning. Everett, who was standing in right field at the time, said he will press charges.
