Minnesota Twins Team Report - April 26
(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins snapped their six-game losing streak
last night, and look to make it two in a row tonight when they face the White
Sox in the second game of a three-game set at U.S. Cellular Field.
Young righthander Kyle Lohse will head to the mound for the Twins, who are
going for five straight against the White Sox dating back to the end of last
season.
Lohse was hammered in his last outing, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over
just 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees last Sunday.
The 24-year-old righthander has been superb against the White Sox in his
career, posting a 5-1 record with an ERA of 2.53 in eight starts.
Last night, Joe Mays struck out three in seven strong innings and Bobby Kielty
belted a two-run homer, as Minnesota rolled to a 6-1 victory over Chicago.
Mays (3-2), who didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning, surrendered just
four hits and one run in the outing. Kielty finished with three hits and
scored twice, while Matt LeCroy added a pair of hits and two RBI for the
Twins.
Kielty has reached base safely in all 15 games he has started this season.
