Oakland Athletics Team Report - April 26

(Sports Network) - Mark Ellis went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored and Ted Lilly pitched 7 2/3 strong innings, leading the Oakland Athletics to a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Indians at the Coliseum.

Lilly (2-0) gave up just six hits and two runs for the win. The only two runs he surrendered came on home runs. Ramon Hernandez also added two hits, including a home run, and scored two runs for the Athletics, who have won three out of four.

Keith Foulke earned his fifth save by striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

The A's will send John Halama out to the mound today. Halama is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in three starts this season.

In his last appearance nine days ago, Halama lasted only four and one-third innings in a 4-3 setback to the Seattle Mariners. He surrendered three runs and seven hits, but did not figure in the decision.

In seven career appearances, including five starts, against the Indians, Halama is 3-2 with a 6.12 ERA.

Ellis hit his first career leadoff home run Friday.

Outfielder Jermaine Dye was held out of the lineup on Friday because of a sore right knee.
