Anaheim Angels Team Report - April 26

(Sports Network) - Jarrod Washburn was handed the loss after yielding five runs on six hits in seven innings of a 5-2 setback to the Boston Red Sox.

Washburn finished the game with one strikeout and three walks.

Tim Salmon and David Eckstein each had a pair of hits for the Angels, who have lost four of their last five games.

Taking the hill for Anaheim tonight will be setup man Scot Shields, who was moved into a starting roll due to injuries to starting pitchers Kevin Appier and Aaron Sele. Shields is 0-0 with a 0.50 ERA in seven appearances this season.

In two career relief appearances against Boston, Shields is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA.

Third baseman Troy Glaus left the game with an infected left foot. He is listed as day-to-day

Salmon extended his hitting streak to 14 games on Friday.
