Anaheim Angels Team Report - April 30

(Sports Network) - Ramon Ortiz tossed a complete game and Garret Anderson and Jeff DaVanon each knocked in three runs, leading the Anaheim Angels to a 10-1 rout of the Cleveland Indians in the opener of a three-game set at Jacobs Field.

Ortiz (4-2) scattered seven hits and gave up just one run to post the Angels' first complete game of the season. He did not strike out a batter, but only walked two.

It was Ortiz's ninth career complete game and he improved to 3-0 in his career against Cleveland.

Brad Fullmer went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Troy Glaus and Tim Salmon each had a pair of hits for the Angels, who won for just the fourth time in 11 tries on the road.

Anaheim just finished a nine-game homestand at 3-6 and had lost five of seven coming in. The Angels have also won five straight in Cleveland.

The Angels will send lefthander Jarrod Washburn to the mound today. He is making his sixth start of the season and will try to record just his second victory. The Angels' ace allowed five earned runs on six hits in his most recent outing, as he dropped his second game in a row.

Washburn (1-3) has posted a record of 2-3 and an ERA of 5.31 in his career appearances against the Indians. In those outings, he has walked 13 batters and struck out 28 of them in 40 2/3 innings of action.

Anaheim reliever Francisco Rodriguez was re-instated from the bereavement list yesterday after attending his grandmother's funeral in Venezuela. Pitcher Derrick Turnbow was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.
