Hollywood funnyman Adam Sandler has become a father for the first time after wife Jackie Titone gave birth on Saturday.

The 'Big Daddy' star posted an excited note on his website declaring, "Sandler had a kid!! Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!!"

It is the couple's first child together and People magazine speculates the new arrival is a baby girl, born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Sandler, 39, and his model/actress wife, 30, married in 2003.
